Ulsan

Located 160km from Japan on the southeastern coast of the Peninsula, Ulsan has traditionally been the gateway for trade with its neighbor and co-host of the 2002 FIFA Wold Cup.

Ulsan embarked on a full-scale urban development after its official designation as the country's first industrial complex in the early 1960s. Today, as Korea's industrial center, it accommodates such major local businesses as Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Heavy Industries, SK, Samsung Display Devices and LG Chemicals.

Over 40 percent of its 1 million agglomeration population are in their 20-30s, and some 200,000 workers operate its production lines day and night, making Ulsan a dynamic city of youth, life and opportunity.

In terms of size, Ulsan is the largest Metropolitan City in Korea, covering an area of 1,055km2 which is 1.74 times that of Seoul.
