Pusan (Busan)

Busan is the second most populous city in Korea with nearby 4 million residents.

The people of Busan take pride in the scenic beauty of the coastal area. In particular, Haewoondae Beach is regarded as one of Korea's eight best-known sights. Busan provides a direct flight and sea connection to and from Japan, and thus it has always been very close to Japan both culturally and geographically.

Busan has successfully hosted various international sports competitions including football and sailing competitions of the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Olympics Games. Based on this experience, it will exert its utmost efforts to leave a lasting impression in the hearts of football fans around the world. Pusan will ensure a successful preparation for not only the 2002 FIFA World Cup but also the XIVth Asian Games in the fall of 2002.
